1:08 Navan – Flooring Porter (14/1) 1 Pt each-way

The big handicap hurdle on the Navan card is fiercely competitive but this Gavin Cromwell five-year-old really caught the eye last time finishing second to subsequent dual winner Streets Of Doyen at Gowran. He jinked to his left in the straight that day, giving up all chance, but it was taking that he still held on for second and going the other way today will suit him.

2.23 Navan – Bois De Clamart (8/1) 1 Pt each-way

Liz Doyle’s six-year-old was in the process of running a big race at Punchestown last time when unseating rider four out. He remains an unexposed type with further scope to improving, having won nicely at Tramore on his penultimate start.

3:35 Sandown – Mister Coffey (13/8) 4pts Win

This course and distance winner could be miles better than a mark of 138. He looked like he jumped in at the second last flight on that run, which was his first of the season, and connections look set to be rewarded for their patience with this five-year-old.

12.00 Navan – Grangeclare Native (3/1) 4 Pts Win

A former PtP winner who was a game winner of his bumper last year under Lisa O’Neill – he would have to have a huge chance in this based off his C&D form from last time out and is taken to get off the mark over Hurdles.

2.53 Navan – Bois Des Clamart (8/1) 2 Pts EW

Liz Doyle’s horse does lack for experience but looks a horse potentially ahead of his mark off 125. He showed up really well for a long way on handicap debut before departing at 4 out. If he gets a clear round tomorrow, can’t see him out of the frame.

1.50 Sandown – Eldorado Allen (11/4) 4 Pts Win

Lightly raced 6yo who seeks a hat trick over fences for Team Tizzard. Described as a natural two miler by his trainer, Eldorado Allen was professional at HQ and had the beating of rival Gumball when left in front last time. With a strong gallop ensured today Eldorado Allen’s jumping looks best equipped to tackle the Sandown fences. Stand out bet of the weekend for me.

2.25 Sandown – Greaneteen (9/4) 2 Pts Win

Paul Nicholls was adamant we’d see an improved Greaneteen this season and he started the season off with a win at Exeter last time. The omission of Altior makes this somewhat of an easier task but he’ll need to step up on official ratings to beat stable mate Politilogue here. On just his sixth start over fences, I think he will. Could be a dark horse for the Champion Chase.

2.53 Navan – Massey’s Wood (4/1) 2 Pts Win

Impressive winner on handicap chase debut over 3m at Down Royal on Champion Chase day. Had some nice form as a hurdler with horses such as The Conditional and Castlebrook and could follow a similar path to them over fences. If big handicaps like the Paddy Power Handicap Chase at Leopardstown are in mind he should go close off 129. Drop in trip will play to his strengths. Lovely jumper.

Faith is really being put in the hands of Olly Murphy having this guy right having not been seen in over a year. His entry here though is an eye-catcher on the basis that you’d think there would be easier reintroductions. His last run was a very impressive 2nd to Lord Du Mesnil and Danny McMenamin takes off 3lb. I think he has a good each-way chance albeit only the 3 places now with Give Me Copper a non-runner.

2.18 Navan – Embittered (5/2) 4 Pts Win

I just still think there is a smidge of hype horse legacy priced into Andy Dufresne (1/3 at time of analysis). He’s not the horse they once hoped he was. Not very fluent last time out either at Wexford. Embittered should lead this one from the front and if he can bowl along in and jump well he could capitalize on mistakes by the odds on shot.
